FCC Registration Number (“FCC RN”)
Database for E-Rate Service Providers
As of November 2004, all participants in the E-rate program - applicants, vendors, and consultants - are required to have FCC Registration Numbers (“FCC RNs”).

New versions of E-rate forms being introduced in 2005 will all require applicant and service provider FCC RNs. Earlier in 2005, the SLD began collecting applicant FCC RNs as a part of its Form 471 application review process. As yet, however, the SLD has not started collecting service provider FCC RNs, nor has it modified its SPIN Search database to display them. Similarly, the FCC’s database of FCC RNs does not include SPIN information.

To provide a head start for service providers wishing to provide applicants (and ultimately the SLD) with the FCC RNs associated with their SPINs, the E-Rate Service Provider Forum is creating its own database. Service providers can add their FCC RNs to this database by completing and submitting the following form. When the SLD and/or FCC is ready to accept FCC RNs by SPIN, this database information will be provided to them.

Please note that the following database form requests the last four digits of the service provider’s federal Employer Identification Number (“EIN”). Since the FCC database of FCC RNs is keyed to EINs, this will permit the FCC or SLD to validate the information submitted.

Further information on the FCC RN requirement can be found on the SLD Web site (see FCC RN Requirement).
